Ms. Anuradha Gupta

Anuradha Gupta joined GAVI in 2014 as Deputy Chief Executive Officer. In this role, Anuradha is responsible for the oversight of strategic planning and the performance and management of the Alliance Secretariat.

Prior to joining the GAVI Alliance, Anuradha served as Additional Secretary at the Indian Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, and Mission Director at the National Health Mission where she ran the largest– and possibly most complex – public health programme in the world with a budget of $3.5 billion. She managed programmes in all 35 states in India, and leads a team of 400 staff within the Ministry, in addition to a further 40 people in a technical support unit and another 250 people in collaborating agencies.

Anuradha is a proven manager and leader who, among other accomplishments, played a key role in helping lead efforts to eradicate polio transmission, with India recently certified as polio-free. She has also led efforts to pioneer free care for over 165 million pregnant mothers and children; and to introduce universal child health screening for 270 million children. Anuradha has also played an important role in a number of global health initiatives including Co-Charing the Partnership for Maternal, Neonatal and Child Health (PMNCH), serving as a member of the Steering Committee of the "Child Survival Call to Action" at the invitation of Secretary of State Clinton and Co-Chairing the Stakeholder Group for the London Family Planning Summit, 2020.

Anuradha has a Masters in English Literature from Kurukshetra University and a MBA from the University of Wollongong in Australia, as well as Executive Education from Stanford School of Business and Harvard's Kennedy School of Government.
